Plant-E is a spin-off of Wageningen University that generates electrical energy from plants. The unique process uses the natural interaction between plant roots and soil microbes — without harming the plant. The result: sustainable energy from planting in parks, meadows and green roofs.
For Plant-E, we developed a completely new website: from conceptual design to technical build. The visual direction was clear — green, scientific and futuristic at the same time. We translated the complex technology into an accessible user experience that speaks to investors and end users alike.
The site combines animations that visualise the energy generation process with clear calls to action for partnership and pilot requests. Mobile-first development, fast loading times and a CMS for the team completed the project.
